La lista di tutti i giochi che supportano il cross-play!

Il cross-play negli ultimi 2 anni ha ricoperto un ruolo sempre più importante nell’industria del videogioco. Sembrava certamente una feature irrealizzabile, quella che sarebbe andata a unire le piattaforme di Sony, Microsoft e Nintendo fra loro. Grazie a dei veri e propri pionieri di questa funzionalità come Minecraft, Fortnite e Rocket League, anche altre software house hanno capito che supportare i giochi cross-play è una vittoria per tutti, videogiocatori e non.

Dopo uno scontro prolungato con i giocatori di Fortnite, delusi dalla mancanza di crossplay con le altre piattaforme, Sony, inizialmente restia all’uso della funzionalità, ha successivamente invertito la dura linea aziendale sul cross-play. In un post sul blog ufficiale scritto dal CEO stesso, quello con Fortnite fu il primo passo verso il cross-play.

Non tutti i giochi cross-play supportano questa funzione su tutti i sistemi, visto che alcuni tralasciano Nintendo Switch, Stadia o il PC.

Per fortuna la popolarità di questa funzionalità è ancora giovane e probabilmente continuerà ad espandersi nei prossimi anni; se solo si pensa che fino a qualche anno fa era impensabile giocare con l’amico dotato di una console diversa, sono già stati fatti passi da gigante. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare di Activision per esempio ha supportato il cross-play sin dalla sua uscita suo lancio, Dauntless invece si è impresso nella storia del videogioco come primo titolo ad avere pieno supporto cross-play al lancio: probabilmente altri titoli in uscita in questo 2021 continueranno a seguire le loro orme.

Con PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X alcuni titoli saranno giocabili anche con giocatori di piattaforme della generazione precedente! Tuttavia, con l’arrivo di esclusive non condivise con la vecchia generazione, probabilmente assisteremo a dei cross-play esclusivi fra queste ultime due console.
